CBSE Class XII Computer Science Sample Question Paper 2026–27 (Code 083)

The CBSE Class XII Computer Science Sample Question Paper 2026–27 (Subject Code 083) provides the assessment framework and question paper structure for the current academic session. The paper is designed for 3 hours and carries a maximum of 70 marks.

The Sample Question Paper contains 37 questions, all of which are compulsory. Internal choices have been provided in selected questions, and students are required to attempt only one option where a choice is provided. The question paper is divided into five sections: A, B, C, D and E.

Question Paper Structure

• Section A: 21 questions carrying 1 mark each (21 marks).
• Section B: 7 questions carrying 2 marks each (14 marks).

• Python Programming: Lists, strings, dictionaries, tuples, functions, scope of variables, built-in functions and methods, loops, error handling and output prediction.
• File Handling: Text files, binary files, file operations, seek() and tell(), exception handling and file-based programming.
• Data Structures: Stack implementation and user-defined functions for push and pop operations.
• Database Management and SQL: MySQL queries, keys, domains, attributes, tuples, cardinality, SQL functions, filtering, grouping, sorting, NULL values, ALTER and UPDATE commands, and database operations.
• Python-MySQL Connectivity: Programs involving connectivity with a MySQL database and modification of database records.
• Computer Networks: Communication media, switching, network topologies, networking devices, protocols, VoIP and selection of suitable networking solutions.

Application-Oriented Programming

The paper includes programming tasks based on practical situations such as processing text files, maintaining CSV records, implementing stacks, manipulating database records and establishing Python-MySQL connectivity. Questions require students to write functions, predict outputs, correct programs and develop appropriate Python or SQL solutions.

Database and SQL Applications

SQL-based questions include writing and predicting queries involving SELECT, WHERE, GROUP BY, ORDER BY, aggregate functions, pattern matching, updating records and working with multiple tables. The paper also includes application-based database scenarios involving event registrations and library records.

Computer Networks and Case-Based Assessment

The final question presents a network-planning scenario for a university with multiple academic blocks and an HR Center. Students are required to apply concepts related to server placement, network topology, repeaters, switches, guided transmission media, communication protocols and VoIP.

The network case study provides distances between different blocks and the number of computers at each location, requiring students to apply networking concepts to a practical infrastructure-planning situation.

The Sample Question Paper states that there is no change in the Question Paper Design and Assessment Pattern for the Academic Session 2026–27.
